Brian GREEN

Brian Green, 74, was found guilty in his absence of five counts of rape following a trial at Leeds Crown Court in March this year. Four of the counts related to multiple incidences of rape – of which there were at least five for each.

After an adjournment, Green still failed to turn up for his sentencing on Wednesday and the court heard he was to be sentenced for 22 years in prison.

Prosecutor Katherine Robinson told the court that Green would tell his victim – who was nine when the abuse started – that she was “ugly, or stupid.” She said: “He said no one loved her. She suffered and continues to suffer extreme psychological harm and she was isolated.

There were a minimum of 21 rapes over a four-year period. He told her not to tell anyone. Brian Green has been sentenced in his absence to a lengthy jail term, reflecting the very serious non recent offences he committed against a young and vulnerable child.

Police are appealing for information to help locate a man who is Wanted for Rape of a child under the age of 13. Despite extensive enquiries made to trace Brian GREEN, officers have been unable to locate him and are appealing to the public to assist.

Brian GREEN was initially remanded into custody but was later bailed to return home to Spain. The condition of this bail was that he return to the UK on the 25.03.24 for his trial, however he has failed to return.
